Gourdness Gracious
Did I actually find an artist whose Judaica world revolves around Gourds? In the words of Julie Andrews in a Sound of Music "I must have done something good!
Yair Blaushtein is a 31 y.o Israeli who has resided most of his life in Moshav Bezet, less then 1 mile from the border of Lebanon.
After his Israeli Defense Force Service, he worked as a pc technician but soon enough felt the artist within ready to break free. His parents had grown gourds on their farm for years and his desire to combine this natural product with his art developed. He recently moved to Jerusalem to work full time as an artist
The city's Jewish history was not lost on Yair and he began a new artistic venture.
