I have featured the art of Lisa Rauchberger in the past... I just never discovered her wonderful website with more of her fabulous papercuts on it before last week. What a find! This is a paper sculpture midrash, depicting the story of the martyred Rabbi Taradyon, who, when wrapped in a Torah scroll and burned at the stake by the Romans was asked by his pupils, "Master, what do you see?", answered, "The parchment is burning, but the letters are flying free."

Flying Free
